Bohey Dulang Island

Moored at Bohey Dulang Island, our temporary haven, we disembarked for a few hours, intending to tackle the Bohey Dulang Nature Trail. Unfortunately, heavy rainfall had triggered mudslides, rendering the 650-meter steep ascent impassable. We were disappointed that we didn’t get to see those breathtaking views. Our anchorage is a 45-minute speedboat ride from Semporna’s jetty. Australian friends Sara and John joined us after a night’s stay in Semporna, taking a speedboat to our yacht at the marine park.

Before our friends reached the marine park, a chance emerged to join fellow rally participants in hiring a boat for a dive at Sipadan. Despite the bumpy and wet journey to the island, our diving was incredible. We witnessed large schools of barracuda, bumphead parrotfish, pink-tail triggerfish, sharks, trevally, groupers, damselfish, tube sponges, sea squirts, and so much more; it was a great dive experience. Post-dive, hunger led us to discover plenty of delightful spots to have lunch and chat about our underwater experiences.
