The drive from Marburg to Kulgun was brief yet beautiful, taking us through lush, green paddocks framed by gently rolling hills. As we approached our destination, anticipation built as we neared the Olive View, where we had booked a three-night stay. We arrived just after midday and strolled down the long driveway, taking in the mountain views that unfolded before us. As evening descends, the serene landscape transforms; you might catch a glimpse of kangaroos gracefully foraging for food among the olive trees, while curious hares quietly roam the grounds under the starlit sky. It’s a magical experience that connects you to nature and the charm of farm life.
Boonah is only a short drive away and has a great coffee shops, chemist, Mitre 10 and a large IGA. While in town, it’s worth pausing at the Boonah War Memorial, a dignified tribute to the local men and women who served in various conflicts. Set in a peaceful park, the memorial invites quiet reflection, surrounded by beautifully maintained gardens and plaques that tell the story of the region’s proud history of service and sacrifice.
