We checked into the Kingaroy Holiday Village. If you’re looking for some exercise, it’s a flat walk with no hills into town. We stopped at the Big Peanut for a photo and learned about the history of the peanut industry. The Big Peanut features various metal components, including a pressure gauge, bolt cutters, gears, old oil cans, a part of a metal plough, a manual planer, springs, door handles, hooks, and more. It’s fun trying to identify all the parts of the Big Peanut.
Across the road, you’ll find the duck ponds. Be sure to stop at the Peanut Shack to try some of the many peanut flavours. We bought some peanut brittle, and it was delicious!
For coffee, we visited Muffin Break at Kingaroy Shopping World, where we enjoyed excellent coffee and fresh muffins. Since I’m gluten-free, I always check for gluten-free options wherever we go.
We opted for a pub meal at the Carrollee Hotel on our last evening. We chose the beef parmi, which some might call a crumbed steak, served with chips and salad. I also had the rump steak topped with calamari. The service at the hotel was excellent; the staff were welcoming and attentive, and we had an excellent meal.
