Up’s ‘n’ Down Caravan Park on the outskirts of Roma was our charming accommodation for two delightful days. This quirky park is a treasure trove of old farm equipment, vintage cars, whimsical garden ornaments, vibrant murals, and a variety of friendly farm animals that enjoy a feed at 4 o’clock. As we strolled through the grounds, we even stumbled upon a skeleton that added a unique touch to the surroundings. The park caretaker was a true Aussie bush character, full of wit and humour. His warm, humourous demeanour kept our spirits high.
Roma has a giant bottle tree with a 9.62m girth. This tree was transplanted from a local property to this site in 1927. The Bottle Tree can live naturally for over 200 years.
Roma is a great place to stock up on food and drinks. It has an excellent IGA, a local butcher next door, a Woolworths, and plenty of places to choose from if you need alcohol.
